What I realized creating this strip was that the smallest of things can absolutely make the difference in a character looking the way he should and looking just slightly odd. It’s like when I was in Junior High and this new show called The Simpsons came out. I would draw all the characters, but unless I hit a curve or a line exactly right, Bart always looked like a retarded pineapple. I went through some of that with this character as I tried to put a bit more gesture and animation in his look. I like how this strip turned out, what do ya’ll think?
By the way, no I am not switching the lettering font to Comic Sans, I was just messing with my character, he doesn’t approve

What comic font do you use? I’ve been lettering my own comics lately in fear that someone will slap me with a lawsuit if I use their font without paying them.
I use Web Letterer. It’s free at Blambot.com and per Nate’s Twitter feed he says:
Plus all his fonts, free or pay, are very good.
