Today’s comic was inspired by the trends I see from young designers in the industry to bypass traditional means, such as pencil to paper, and going straight to digital tools. Of course digital tools increase our productivity greatly and help many of us do much better looking work than we did before the digital revolution, but I still firmly believe in traditional tools as well. In this day and age, with the economy what it is and the proliferation of cheap digital tools, designers that are capable of actually drawing and being creative outside of the computer are probably much more likely to make a living – and get gigs they really want – than those designers that use programs such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop as their crutch in artwork creation.
Now to step down off my soapbox, thanks once again to everyone for keeping the vote going on TWC for the comic and spreading the word about the comic and the blog
