EDIT: Just wanted to let everyone know that the comic above was, in fact, an April Fool’s joke. The entire blog entry was too. I am very happy with how the comic looks (before the above comic) and expect a new one and things back to normal on Monday. I am leaving this one up over the weekend because I did actually have people tell me they loved it. So thanks for being good sports and expect a new comic on Monday

As many of you know I have been playing around with my coloring and inking style on the comic for the past couple of weeks or so now. Though I have made a lot of improvement in some areas I just don’t like the direction that the comic is going. With my work load, my freelancing and social responsibilities I’ve been needing to find a way to streamline my process so that I can do more comics a lot faster so that I can stick to a almost daily schedule. I have decided, in order to achieve this, to scrap everything I have done thus far on Robot Friday and go down a completely different path. The comic above is this new path.

As many of you will notice the art for today’s comic comes from The Watchmen comic book. What my new process will be is to scan in and appropriate images from other comics and just put my own written jokes to the images. This way I don’t have to worry about drawing, inking or color as much as I would if I did the art myself. Also, by cutting out the art chores, I can concentrate on more quality writing and jokes so that I can make the comic a lot more funny.

I hope everyone will like the new direction of the comic and of Robot Friday. I am very excited about this new direction.
