See, I’m working design related issues back into the comic! And this particular issue has been getting more and more on my last nerves for a few weeks now. I’ve viewed or read at least a half a dozen “design tutorials” that deal with creating a logo and ALL of them have begun with “First you need to pick a font…” NO YOU DON’T, FIRST YOU NEED TO PICK UP AN F’N PENCIL!
Ok, I’m going to try to not get all scream-y, but man does it rub me the wrong way. To avoid having to create a tutorial right here in this blog today I am just going to give you the first step in REALLY creating ANY design, especially a logo. FIRST, pick up your pencil and starting drawing out the things that come to mind about the company or product you are designing for. YOU SHOULD NEVER BE AT THE COMPUTER AT THE BEGINNING!
Ok, before my blood pressure gets to dangerous levels I am going to finish up this rant now. Thanks again guys for all the awesome support you’ve given me this past year. Thank you, as well, for keeping up the vote on TWC and spreading the word about the comic. Have a great weekend
One final thing, all weekend long I will have an original art sale going on at ebay, so check it out or check out my Twitter feed for more original art sales!

I’m all for technology and design but I totally agree that it begins with your mind, a pencil and some paper. Glad to see that’s not as much of a “lost art” as I thought. Cheers!
