Takes a lot to excel in the print business and delivering a good shrimp is just one thing!
I like the way the characters look, they are evolving in a good way.
We had a guy apply for a job with us, and at the time had a big glass order going through. Everyone was picking out vinyl letters in order for the glass to be sandblasted. We handed him a pile of glass and told him to start picking letters and he flat out said he didn’t have to stoop to such levels as doing menial jobs. He didn’t get the job.
Thanks for the comment on the characters. Im feeling a lot more comfortable drawing them, im glad it’s showing.
This is exactly how it feels too for so many of those who work at that large national copy/print/ship center chain…
I hear ya. My current day job requires that i do a lot of different jobs as well as design. The business has changed so much that being a designer that just makes art is beginning to be a fleeting luxury.
Man, I wish I could get some shrimp delivered!
I know, right! Why the heck isnt there a seafood delivery business. I think i need to file a patent
Love the comic. Great artwork…and fantastic point. I left a comment on your blog about being flexible but I think the internet ate it (I just heard my computer burp). Keep up the good work.
Thanks Bo. Yeah, I’ve worked in the print production end of design/printing for 15+ years and there was a time when working in a print shop meant printing or designing, now it can mean just about anything. Hell, no body knows whats coming next or how fast in this industry these days. So I guess just hold on and enjoy the ride
